Randy has been scuba diving since the young age of thirteen. I have always admired the beauty and the wonder of the ocean. Once he began diving, he was able to explore another world that he knew existed. Randy enjoyed diving so much that he decided to make a career of it and received his Associates Degree in Commercial Diving in the late 1980’s. He spent his commercial diving career working in the Gulf of Mexico, Guam, Alaska, and the waters of the Puget Sound.
Randy purchased his first underwater camera in the late 1980’s. He was immediately hooked and knew he had a deep passion to begin his adventure in underwater photography. It is amazing how technology has progressed over the years to allow a photographer to capture the amazing beauty of the life in our oceans. Seeing the expressions of others while sharing his photographs makes it even more enjoyable.
Over 70% of the earth is covered with water. As a diver he has a new awareness to the need for conservation and educating others about the responsibility we have to protect our oceans. Without this, others will not be able to enjoy the ultimate wonders of our world below.
